About Sensei Guide Service

My name is Matt Enges and I am the owner and operator of Sensei Guide Service.
I grew up in Sequim Washington, learning to fish on the Dungeness and Elwha Rivers, As a youngster and taking what I had learned on those rivers, to the larger rivers of the West End as a teenager.

Fishing has always been part of my life, from the first Steelhead in the summer of 1985 to the present day of catching Salmon and Steelhead year-round. I have dedicated my life to learning and progressing in catching these remarkable fish. I spend well over 200 days a year on such rivers as the Hoh, Sol Duc, Bogacheil, Queets, and Clearwater. If I am not booked with clients and the river is somewhat fishable, I am on it, learning and progressing in new techniques, new channels and holding spots. This enables me to learn all I can about a particular stretch of river.
I believe in doing so, I bring this extra dedication and perseverance to you - the client, which results in more fish and a better experience.

Fishing for me has always been about having fun and enjoying the beautiful scenery that these majestic rivers have to offer. I don’t rush to the river and try to beat everyone to so called, “best holes”. I take my time and fish the whole river.
By doing this I believe that I hit a lot of fish that are passed by in the hurry, hurry of other guides. If you have any questions about bank spots or techniques or if the rivers are in shape, feel free to give me a call or drop an email.

I will do my best to get you into the fish, whether your fishing with me or without, my goal is to help you have the best experience possible. There is nothing like that huge smile while sharing a great fishing experience with a brother, father, son, sister, mother, lover or friend.
